Michael Joncas

Fr. Jan Michael Joncas is an internationally recognized priest, liturgical composer, author, speaker and professor based in Minnesota. He is the composer of “On Eagles Wings/En Sus Alas,” “O Burning Mountain,” Michael Joncas Hymnary and other songs and hymns beloved by Christians the world over. In 2022, Fr. Joncas retired from active ministry in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota and as professor emeritus from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. He continues to preach and preside sacramentally in various parishes and worshiping communities, teach, write and compose liturgical music.
