Sing Ye Faithful, Sing with Gladness

This jubilant anthem for SATB, soprano solo, and organ is a journey for the listener! Women_x0019_ s voices open the anthem with a lilting melody, which is then taken up by the men. The voices join for the second, darker section, followed by a glorious, floating soprano solo. The main theme returns, the choir singing in unison, and the piece closes with an extended coda which simulates the pealing of bells. Dirksen_x0019_ s proficiency as an organist is obvious _x0013_ not relegated to _x0018_ just_x0019_ accompaniment, the organ is an equal player throughout.
