Salve Regina (A Litany to Mary)

Composed as a litany for Marian feasts, this piece for schoolchildren begins with a portion of the venerable Latin plainchant. This slow and rhythmically free introduction, surprisingly, breaks into an upbeat, syncopated repetition of the text _x001C_ Holy Mary, pray for us,_x001D_ over which interjections for cantor(s) in both English and Spanish can be sung. It is accompanied by keyboard and guitar.
