Rest in God Alone, My Soul

This contemplative, verbatim setting of Psalm 62 (Grail text) is scored for SATB choir, keyboard, guitar, oboe, violin, and cello. Beginning with a starkly repeated open fifth, and using modal mixture and poignant dissonances to color the prevailing E-flat major of the piece, this setting effectively communicates the comfort that the promise of Heaven can bring to people who grieve.
