Psalm 31: Father, into Your Hands

This Good Friday lament Psalm eloquently echoes the Isaiah reading (_x001C_ he was pierced for our offenses, crushed for our sins_x001D_ ) and powerfully anticipates the Passion account of John_x0019_ s Gospel. Yet the major mode, flowing accompaniment, and easy singability of the refrain offer a hopeful interpretation of the themes and underline the verses_x0019_ themes of refuge, trust, and, ultimately, salvation.
