In the Ending of the Year

This text, from John Neale_x0019_ s translation of the 12th century German carol _x001C_ In hoc anni circulo,_x001D_ is a simple treatment of the Christmas story: the coming of God Incarnate through the Virgin Mary. Resourcefully scored for SAB choir, descant, piano, guitar, solo instrument in C and B-flat clarinet, this simple yet elegant setting can be performed as written, harmonized throughout, or with different sections of the choir leading the melody in each half-verse.
