Written as a Lenten gathering song, this assembly piece, based on an alternate translation of Psalm 90 from the Anchor Bible, deals with topics of faith, truth, and God_x0019_ s love for us. Scored for SAB chorus, piano, and a virtuosic, improvisatory flute part, the simple, diatonic refrain tune proceeds mainly in quarter notes, with the four verses in two-part harmony ushering in a more rhythmically complex texture with some chromatic coloring.
