Inspired by the melodies and speech-like rhythms of plainchant, this a cappella choral anthem is a beautiful option where a reflective atmosphere is desired. The piece begins softly, but slowly blossoms, juxtaposing choral textures with brief statements in the style of plainchant. Written for use during the candlelit Old Testament readings at the Easter Vigil, its gradual build up coincides with the anticipation of the Easter celebration.
