Beyond the Moon and Stars

This piece expresses the very heart of the Advent season: _x001C_ So great our hunger, Lord, to see your light._x001D_ It refers to that deep-down ache that we feel in our souls, like a hunger that is never really satisfied. The verses very clearly point forward to the Christmas season with allusions to the journey of the Magi seeking the light of God_x0019_ s star. One might use this hymn during Advent and then again on Epiphany. This song is written in refrain/verse form making it very useful as a Communion processional, but it can be used in other ways and for other occasions.
